Job Description:
This position is responsible for providing grounds maintenance, primarily the maintenance and manicuring of existing landscape, to all areas of the Hersheypark Camping Resort.
Job Functions:
- Operating lawn equipment to include lawn mowers manual and riding, string trimmers, chain saws, and hedge trimmers and manually operated lawn care equipment
- Picking up trash
- Cleaning fire pits
- Trim trees
- Weed, water and maintain flower beds
- Mowing both manually and riding
- Leaf cleanup to include raking, operating hand and backpack blowers
- Snow removal to include shoveling, plowing and salting
- Other duties as assigned by manager/supervisor
Basic Qualifications:
- Must be at least 18 years of age or older
- Must have a valid driver’s license
Additional Qualifications:
- General knowledge of landscaping, operation of mowers (zero turns) and all equipment associated with property maintenance
- Organizational skills
- Positive, professional employee and guest relations skills
- Capable of working alone and as a team. Must be a self-starter
- Ability to handle multiple priorities at once
- Ability to understand instructions, both written and verbal
Working Conditions:
- Ability to stand, squat, walk, climb ladders and lift (90 % of shift)
- Physical requirements include complete mobility and good physical conditioning, good hearing and vision, and ability to tolerate heat and adverse weather conditions
- Proper footwear must be provided by employee-uniform shirts will be supplied
- Must be able to push/pull/lift a maximum of 60 lbs.
- Exposure to machinery, lawn equipment and fuels
- Ability to safely use chemicals in and around the work place meeting OSHA standards
